Aarón Fernández

Aarón is a mexican filmmaker who has worked as a screenwriter, director and producer in several film and TV projects. He is also a script consultant and a teacher. He is currently residing in Sao Paulo and works both in Mexico and Brasil.

He directed many short films and commercials before his first feature “Partes usadas”, which was shown in over 40 international film festivals and won several prizes in 2007. He also directed the first 5 episodes of the series “Alguien más”, a co-production between Canal 11 and Canana Films starring Ana Serradilla and Fernando Álvarez.

His second feature film, “Las horas muertas”, obtained the Prize to the Best Artistic Contribution at the Tokyo Film Festival and the prize for Best Actress as well as a mention from the Jury at the Morelia International Film Festival in 2013.

His documentary “Un filósofo en la arena” is a contender for the Premio Mezcal, as well as the Best Documentary Feature and Best Ibero-American Documentary Feature at the Guadalajara International Film Festival 2018.

He is currently working on his next feature “Hijo de su padre”.
