Born in Hermosillo, Sonora, she started writing at a very early age. She finished her first script at 17 and there she discovered her vocation. Since then she has not stopped telling stories.
She moved to Mexico City following her dreams and received her first opportunity writing for the series Bienes Raices (Real Estate), broadcasted in 2010 by Canal Once to a great acclaim. She has written screenplays for several TV series among which are El Vato, Paramédicos and Trillizas de colores.
Ana Sofía wrote the screenplay for the film El Jeremías, for which she was nominated to the Ariel Award for Best Original Screenplay.
She is currently working on TV series and waiting to shoot her latest script, Platónico (Platonic), which shall be finished later in 2018.
