Analeine is a graduate from Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica (CCC) in Mexico City and she also studied at ESCAC, in Barcelona. She has received several grants and scholarships among which are the residency for artists UNESCO Aschberg in Austria to shoot an audiovisual project, the Global Arts Village in New Delhi and the FONCA 2011 residency in Berlin. That same year, in Los Angeles, she studied directing with Judith Weston and the following year she studied a screenwriting specialty at the Raindance Institute in London.
The Boy Who Smells Like Fish, her first feature, has been shown in many film festivals around the world such as the Miami International Film Festival, the Stockholm Film Festival, Guadalajara International Film Festival, among others. The film is starred by Zoë Kravitz (X Men), Douglas Smith (Big Love), Carrie Ann Moss (Matrix) and Ariadna Gil (Pan’s Labyrinth), and produced by Redrum (Mexico) and Rhombus Media (Canada). In 2013 it received a prize for Best Screenplay at the WIFTS Awards (Women International Film and TV Showcase) in Los Angeles.
Her screenplay Las estrellas me iluminan al revés (The stars light me backwards) was elected to participate in the Sundance Sreenwriter’s Lab in 2006, Foro Ibermedia Chile in 2009 and Fundación Carolina in 2010. Another one of her screenplays, The Day When Nobody Died, won a FONCA grant for its’ development and is currently being pre-produced by WooFilms.
Analeine has also directed TV series for Canal Once México such as Woki Tokis, Arte al rescate (Art to the rescue) and Leyendas del deporte mexicano (Legends of mexican sports). Her feature, La voz de un sueño (The voice of a dream), starred by Patricia Reyes Espíndola, Adriana Paz and Axel Ricco, among others, was premiered in May, 2018.
Currtently she is part of the writing team of TV Series “Justiciera” for Argos- Netflix.
Also she has served as a jury for a screenwriting contest in Puerto Rico held by producer Bertha Navarro and for film projects in Perú, and has worked in advertising campaigns for brands such as Liverpool, Ciel and Tequila Cuervo.
