Santiago studied a degree in Communication at the Ibero-American University of Mexico City and has a Master’s degree in Film Direction from the American Film Institute. His thesis short film “Stray Dogs” was successful at festivals such as the Las Vegas Film Festival and the Chicago Comedy Film Festival where he won the Best Short Narrative Award. He has worked as a scriptwriter in various comedy projects, including the pilot for “Saturday Night Live Mexico” with Eugenio Derbez and the film “La boda de Valentina” directed by Marco Polo Constandse. He directed and wrote the adaptation of his debut film “Hasta que la boda nos separe”, a comedy produced by Lemon Films and Timur Bekmambetov that premiered in May 2018. In that same year he directed the film “Será que volverás” produced by Inna Payan and Luis Salinas and co-directed with Catalina Aguilar Mastretta the film “Cindy la Regia” that premieres in May 2019. He is one of the directors of Season 2 of “La Casa de las Flores” and is currently developing his next film with Panetelion Films.
